Calvary Bible Alliance Church 2017
Delray Beach, FL
This mission trip evolved after hurricane Irma hit areas of Florida very hard. CAMA, the relief arm of the Alliance Church was already busy responding to damages around Houston caused by hurricane Matthew. Florida CAMA coordinator contacted us with a request for help. I had been praying for just such an opportunity and wondering how we could assist in such a great time of need. It suddenly became real; there was no excuse not to go. God was at work and it was time to join in.
No mission trip, service project or call from God is ever convenient. However, as we respond by faith alone, to take action, God also challenges that faith. I believe that He does this to deepen our faith and bring us to dependence on Him, bringing glory to Him alone. Though the hurdles were many, a God ordained team came together, endured together, working hard, encouraging one another and accomplishing much. We also, through our sacrifice, encountered God in new ways and at deeper levels.
We are also thankful for the many partners behind the scene that supported through prayer and giving. God again worked through those willing to offer of themselves and their resources. Amazingly, we were able to cover the cost for all materials, transportation, accommodations and food for the entire week. We roofed the entire church building with metal roof and enjoyed great fellowship with the Hattian Alliance congregation and pastor, an enormous miracle and blessing to us all.
