Dear Friends and Supporters,
We as a team here at loving Hands Ministry regret to share with you that our 2020 trip to Tecate’ Mexico has been temporarily cancelled. On Thursday, we heard from Mission Discovery, who has been in direct contact with Peter and Ana, our local missionaries. They informed us that as of this week the National Guard has assumed control and patrol the streets for a complete lock down of Tecate’ due to COVID 19 restrictions. Furthermore Peter, who once worked as a Border Patrol Officer, heard from a friend that at this point in time there has been no talks or dates about reopening the Mexico/US Border.
Though we are working diligently to take care of all the details to cancel our two-week trip, notifying our 34 team members and our many prayer and financial partners is most important. The future is immediately uncertain; however, we are excited to see what God is doing, willing to respond to these changes and faithfully walk the path He leads. We are already looking at some alternative service opportunities and hope to plan a response as soon as possible.
While our focus continues to be Mexico and a return to Tecate’ late Fall or next year, the vision for the future of this ministry is for Kingdom work locally and abroad wherever God leads. Believing and trusting by faith that the Lord will guide us into the future as we submit our priorities, time, and talents.
